Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of our club.
KETC was formed in 1948 as a single court club, we are proud of the way in which the club has progressed over the years and the way in which it has fostered the development of many friendships around the game that we all get so much pleasure from. Most full members play in our club ladies, men’s or mixed teams at various levels within the Leigh & Westcliff leagues. This welcome explains the membership options, the procedure that we follow when introducing potential new members and the reasons why.
Maintaining KETC core values
It is important that we protect what members consider to be the core values of KETC when introducing anyone new. A survey of our membership overwhelmingly concluded that the good standard of social tennis and the friendly atmosphere are what are valued most highly. We have a playing in standard for full membership which has always served our club well to maintain a good standard of social play.
There are four basic levels of membership;
Defining your current standard
We find that those wishing to play tennis at Kent Elms arrive with varying abilities and firstly we would ask you to define how you view your current standard from the list below.
Our club introductory scheme and ‘Improver Membership’ is aimed at giving all potential members the opportunity to meet the ‘playing in’ standard for full membership. Our coaching facility supports those wishing to improve.
Enjoy your tennis
Our members enjoy many hours of social tennis week in week out both summer & winter at 4 set times for full and 3 for off peak members. There is no need to prearrange, you just turn up and play good competitive tennis with whoever is there. You will find KETC members welcoming and will be very keen to help you, give you tips to improve and to see you progress. We sincerely hope that you get many years of pleasure from the game as we all do as members of KETC.
Hope to see you on the courts soon
